WFP to strengthen long term partnership with Vietnam
(VOVworld) - The World Food Program (WFP) hopes to strengthen its long term partnership with Vietnam, said WFP Executive Director Ertharin Cousin on Friday in Rome while receiving the credentials of Vietnamese Ambassador to the WFP Cao Chinh Thien.

Ms. Cousin called for Vietnam’s further contributions to WFP policy making and food provision. She asked Vietnam to share its experiences in efficient use of WFP aids in the past and in natural disasters’ prevention and rescue by sending Vietnamese experts to take part in WFP’s activities when asked. Ambassador Cao Chinh Thien reiterated the Vietnamese government’s willingness to responsibly take part in activities of the UN and the international community, especially humanitarian ones, within Vietnam’s capacity.
