(VOVworld) - The White House said Tuesday it is too soon to tell if the Islamic State (IS) was behind an attack in Texas targeting an exhibit of caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters that the attack, carried out by two gunmen, is under investigation and it is too soon to conclude if the two assailants had any ties to the IS.

On Sunday, two gunmen halted their vehicle outside the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland and opened fire with assault rifles, hitting a security guard in the ankle. Both men were then shot and killed by a Garland police officer.
