World leaders pay tribute to former President Le Duc Anh

(VOVWORLD) - Condolences have poured in for the passing of former President, General Le Duc Anh, who died last Monday due to illness and old age in Hanoi.

In a message to Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong, Chinese President Xi Jinping extended "the deepest condolences" to the party, government and people of Vietnam and Mr. Anh’s family.

The Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the Lao National Assembly (NA), Government and the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) Central Committee extended their condolences to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, NA, Government and the Vietnam Fatherland Front over the decease of former State President Le Duc Anh.

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen was among world leaders to pay tribute to the deceased former president.

The president of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, sent messages of condolences to Party leader and President Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

The same day, Mr. Raul Castro Ruz, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, sent a message of condolences to Party leader and State President Nguyen Phu Trong.
