(VOVworld) - President Ho Chi Minh’s life and career are always an endless source of inspiration for artists, especially musicians. Every May, specifically on his birthday, the songs and dances about Uncle Ho resound around the country to show the affection and respect the Vietnamese people have for Him. Let’s listen to a recent concert in Hanoi to mark the President’s 122nd birthday to hear some songs about Uncle Ho.

The tune of ‘Dem Truong Son nho Bac’ (Remember Uncle Ho on Truong Son Night) underlines the respect soldiers had for Uncle Ho while they marched along the Truong Son range at night. The song’s lyrics are profound and meaningful and imbued with the Vietnamese people’s patriotism, and their heroic fighting spirit. This image of the soldiers and their love for the President was so true that the audience knew how the artists felt. Singer Nguyen Tai Tue is a member of Hai Duong province’s Performing Arts Center. He shares his feelings ‘I have taken part in many concerts about President Ho Chi Minh but this is the first time I have had a chance to perform in Hanoi as a token of my gratitude to Uncle Ho. Each time, I take part in these kinds of concerts, I’m very moved’.

Songs about the late President are widespread and have become familiar melodies in the soul of every Vietnamese person. Singer Lan Anh is a lecturer at the Vietnam Academy of Music ‘I’m lucky to be able to take part in this concert although I’ve participated in lots of others about President. I think these such songs will live forever in the country’s history and will be welcomed by everyone’.

The long lasting value of the songs has left a deep impression on people of all ages, professions , and social positions. Nguyen Van Tien Dung from Hanoi is an example. He says ‘The performance was interesting and touching. Through programs like this, we find that Uncle Ho still lives in the hearts of all Vietnamese people’.

Children dancing brought the show to an end after a series of songs about President Ho Chi Minh. The children’s innocence and purity while performing was their gift to Uncle Ho. Kieu Anh Thu, a member of the choral society, shares her feelings after the show ‘Every time, I sing at a concert about Uncle Ho, I love and respect him even more’.
