The play “Dream of the little mermaid”, an adaptation of a fairy tale written by Hans Christian Andersen, took the young audience to a beautiful, magnificent ocean world. Nguyen Quang Hung said he had watched all  three plays of a new series staged by the Hanoi Youth Theatre, including “The little mermaid,” “Joy of the chicken”, and “War in the kitchen.” He said: “I feel relaxed, enjoying the plays after sitting for tense examinations. These plays are very useful for us.”

Nguyen Sy Tien, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Youth Theatre, said the performances were successful: “Children can learn useful lessons from our shows, which feature stories about childhood. We hope the kids will compare the life of the characters to their own lives. This will help enrich their imagination.”

The play “Joy of the chicken” conveys a strong message about friendship, while “War in the kitchen” tells a fascinating story about artful rats and brave cats. Nguyen Chi Trung, Director of the Hanoi Youth Theatre, said: “We all agree that the plays are interesting, especially for kids aged from 4 to 9. Our theatre is always crowded on Children’s Day or during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Both children and their parents enjoy our art programs.”
