2017 Autumn Book Festival opens

(VOVWORLD) - Thousands of books in numerous genres have been introduced at the 2017 Autumn Book Festival which opened on Wednesday at the Vietnamese Women’s Museum.

Various types of books are being sold at preferential prices. A poem collection called “Verses written during a sleepless night” by Russian poet Alexander Pushkin and translated by Thuy Toan was introduced to mark the 100th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution.

Khuc Thi Hoa Phuong, Director of the Women Publishing House and a member of the event’s organizing board, said: “This year’s festival focuses on the theme of integration, so we showcase a lot of books on Vietnam’s culture and history to provide readers, especially the young, with basic knowledge as Vietnam is integrating into the world”.

Talks between famous authors and readers will also be held during the festival which will close on Sunday.
