Thousands of reporters worked through two national resistance wars and around 600 died in the battle fields. The participants suggested creating policies to care for invalid journalists and their families.

Ho Quang Loi, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association, said: “Ministries, sectors, press agencies, and families have worked hard to find and honor fallen revolutionary reporters to help ease the pain of their relatives and comrades. The Vietnam Journalists’ Association will strengthen the role of Vietnam’s revolutionary journalism, honor the contributions of fallen journalists, improve the understanding of young journalists about their ancestors, and promote their role in the new period.”

Youth organizations in Hanoi have helped families of martyrs and war invalids in Hanoi and other provinces including Ha Giang and Cao Bang.

The HCM Museum in Ho Chi Minh City opened an exhibition portraying 50 war veterans and their memories of the national resistance wars they engaged in.

At a ceremony in Nam Dinh province, Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung urged the province to ensure living conditions for social beneficiaries and enhance the paying gratitude movement.
