Colorful activities mark Vietnam Women’s Day

(VOVworld) – Many activities are taking place across Vietnam to celebrate the country’s Women Day on October 20th. Saturday saw the debut of “Female Business Leaders’ Club” in Ho Chi Minh City, which kicked off the event “Women Leaders Forum 2013” launched by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). This is a series of activities to encourage female business leaders to share their experiences and promote their businesses in the markets.

Women are awarded for their excellent performance

A number of seminars entitled “Vietnamese female entrepreneurs in the globalization age”, “Tips to stay healthy, beautiful, and successful for female leaders”, and “Female leaders – Opportunities and Challenges” were also organized as part of the activities. Former Deputy State President and chairwoman of Vu A Dinh scholarship program Truong My Hoa spoke at the debut ceremony of the “Female Business Leaders’ Club: "I would like to congratulate the idea to establish this club on the occasion of Vietnam’s Women Day on October 20th. I believe that Vietnamese female entrepreneurs will further their career and this is a great opportunity to share their experiences, expand their networks, and more importantly, to show support for each other. We, the Vietnamese women, will strive forward to deserve the golden letters presented by President Ho Chi Minh to Vietnamese women: heroic, indomitable, faithful, humane, and responsible."

In other development, patriotic emulation movements launched by the Vietnam’s Women Union over the past time have encouraged Vietnamese women nationwide to contribute to the country’s industrialization and modernization as well as social common development. The Union Vice President Nguyen Thi Tuyet made the remarks, adding that more activities will be launched by the union in the near future to promoting the women’s role in national socio-economic development. Tuyet said: "We have set out targets to implement the Politburo’s Directive No. 3 to encourage people to follow President Ho Chi Minh’s moral examples. We will call on women to further practice thrift for sustainable poverty reduction. Another task includes appealing women to follow the criteria for Vietnamese women in the industrialization and modernization process which is “confident, self esteem, faithful, humane, and responsible” in order to implement the Party Resolution on Party building."
