The report says in the first quarter, Vietnam’s Business Climate Index hit 73 points, recording a 12-point increase compared to the previous quarter. This is the highest score recorded since the fourth wave of COVID-19. More than two-thirds of surveyed businesses said they expected that Vietnam’s economy would stabilize and improve in the second quarter based on positive exporting activities.

Nearly 66 percent of businesses expressed their belief that their revenue would increase in the second quarter, compared to the 52 percent rate of the previous period.

Mr. Preben Hjortlund, Chairman of EuroCham Advisory Committee, said businesses are eager to start in the new normal after the COVID-19 pandemic. According to European businesses, the Vietnamese government has taken drastic and effective measures. Vietnam’s resumption of international flights and reopening to international tourism in mid-March have been applauded by European businesses.

The report also revealed that 82 percent of European businesses have shown interest in Vietnam’s green growth. EuroCham Chairman Alain Cany said Vietnam has an opportunity to attract FDI in this field from European investors who are seeking for a safe and competitive investment destination. He added that it is the best time to accelerate sustainable development in Vietnam.
