FDI businesses’ production report for 2000 – 2003 period announced

(VOVworld) – Vietnam had nearly 91,000 foreign direct investment enterprises up to late 2013, a six-fold increase compared to 2000.

According to a recent business report on FDI enterprise operations, the number of foreign-invested enterprises working in industry and construction accounted for 73 percent, followed by the service sector.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment said foreign-invested enterprises have made great contributions to Vietnam’s socio-economic development. Despite the moderate number of enterprises, workers and capital in the business sector, those enterprises achieved high turnover and provide more corporate taxes to the State budget. In 2013, FDI enterprises contributed 30.5 percent of corporate taxes to the State budget.
