The event was co-hosted by the US’s Cotton Council International and the Vietnam Textile and Garment Association. 800 enterprises are working in the textile sector in Vietnam, generating an annual export turnover of over 3 billion USD. 60 percent of Vietnam’s imported cotton is from the US. The event is an opportunity for enterprises to learn how new US trade policies will impact Vietnam’s garment and textile sector and the supply and demand of cotton around the world. Vo Manh Hung, Cotton Council International’s chief representative, said: “The event aims to connect Vietnamese apparel enterprises with partners and suppliers and give Vietnamese companies the latest information on global supply and demand for cotton”.
