Hai Phong, Quang Ninh receive UNESCO recognition of Ha Long Bay-Cat Ba Archipelago

(VOVWORLD) - Hai Phong city on Saturday inaugurated the Hoa Phuong Do or Red Flamboyant Flower Festival and received UNESCO’s recognition of Ha Long Bay-Cat Ba Archipelago in the northern province of Quang Ninh and Hai Phong City as the first Vietnam's inter-provincial World Natural Heritage Site. Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang attended the event.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Phong City, Nguyen Van Tung, said Hai Phong and Quang Ninh will join effort to preserve and maximize the values of Ha Long Bay-Cat Ba archipelago Heritage site.

Mr. Tung added that along with economic development, Hai Phong attaches great importance to cultural values and spiritual life of the people. The city will strive to lead the country in industrialization and modernization and to become a driving force for national development.
