Hung Kings Temple festival pays tribute to Vietnamese nation founders

(VOVWORLD) - A number of cultural activities took place on Saturday at Hung Kings Temple relic site in Phu Tho province to mark the Hung Kings’ Death Anniversary and Hung Kings Temple Festival 2018.

These include an incense offering and a tribute ceremony held at temples dedicated to the nation’s legendary father Lac Long Quan and mother Au Co at Sim and Van mountains.

Earlier, at Lac Long Quan temple, a traditional ritual ceremony was held to express people’s gratitude to founders of the Vietnamese nation. 

Nguyen Duy Anh, Head of the Hung Temple Relic Site Management Board, told VOV that the site is ready to welcome visitors. There are displays of items related to the worship of the Hung Kings, a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage. 

The Hung Kings Temple has welcomed crowds of visitors and pilgrims. Chu Thi Giang said Vietnamese always visit the Temple on the death anniversary of the Hung Kings to remember their ancestors. She added that this year, the environment is clean and clear.   

Other highlights of the festival include exhibitions and displays of artifacts on the theme “Festivals and religion of the ancestral land” at the Hung Vuong Museum in Viet Tri City. The events introduce and promote Phu Tho province’s tourism potentials and special products.   

The Hung Kings Temple Festival will be observed in five days, starting on Saturday.
