Compared to the same period last year, the manufacturing and processing sector rose 4.9 per cent, electricity generation and distribution 5.6 per cent, and water supply, sewerage, and waste management and remediation activities 5.2 per cent.

The IIP grew 0.5 per cent year-on-year in the first ten months. According to Ms.  Phi Thi Huong Nga, Deputy Director of the Industry and Construction Statistics Department at the General Statistics Office, though the manufacturing and processing, and mining industries are still facing difficulties, they also saw a recovery in the third quarter.

According to the latest GSO report, the IIP increased in 49 localities compared to the same period last year.

To promote industrial production in the rest of the year, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said the Ministry would continue to remove difficulties for businesses to promote production development. The Ministry would also propose  the government to connect domestic businesses to participate in the supply chain of global businesses with large foreign direct investment (FDI) in Vietnam.
