Mid-term Vietnam Business Forum 2013

(VOV) – The Mid-term Vietnam Business Forum 2013 took place on Monday in Hanoi under theme “New phase of Economic Reform”.

The event was held by the Vietnam Business Forum, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the International Finance Corporation, and the World Bank. The participants discussed Vietnam’s business environment, assessing the banking system, capital market, investment and trade, infrastructure, automobile industry, tourism, education and mineral resources. At the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh spoke highly of the contribution made by agencies, associations and international organizations in boosting economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and other countries, and supporting the country in its efforts at global economic integration. Mr. Ninh said that so far this year, Government measures to resolve difficulties in production and business had paid off. In the coming months, the Government will continue to fulfill the target of stabilizing the macro-economy, controlling inflation and achieving higher growth rate. Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh: "The Government will continue measures aimed at resolving business and production difficulties, especially policies aimed at loosing, reducing and exempting tax and credit support policies. Measures to develop the domestic market and boost exports will be implemented. We will also promote cooperation in market and price management, fighting and strictly punishing any law breakers. We will also focus on preventing tax evasion, market manipulation, and smuggling".

The Deputy Prime Minister asked ministries and sectors to take into consideration recommendations from enterprises to work out more effective measures for improving Vietnam’s business environment and State management system.
