(VOVWORLD) - Overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese business people in Cambodia had a get-together in Phnom Penh on Friday to welcome the traditional Lunar New Year.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen wishes overseas Vietnamese a Happy New Year.

Attending the event, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen expressed his pleasure over the achievements Vietnam has made in the past year, saying this also benefits neighboring countries including Cambodia via trade, tourism, and investment. Mr. Hun Sen suggested the establishment of a dialogue mechanism between Cambodian State agencies and Vietnamese businesses to create favorable condition and encourage investment in Cambodia.

On Friday night in Prague, the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic and Sapa Trading Center held a Lunar New Year celebration. Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Europe said he hoped that New Year celebration will remind Vietnamese people of their traditional culture: “We gather here to celebrate the traditional Lunar New Year of Vietnam. We always encourage overseas Vietnamese here to overcome difficulties and develop”.
