Mr. Hue spoke at Wednesday workshop on reforming policy co-organized by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs and the International Labor Organization: “Many countries have successfully reformed social insurance policy, but some faced problems and even failed. We should study carefully other countries’ experience and applicable conditions. The Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs have to collect and analyze opinions to complete the project.”

Delegates said Vietnam is facing rapid population aging and a high percentage of non-official labor force. ILO suggests Vietnam expands social insurance coverage and assistance to those who don’t currently have.
