Entitled “Linking and developing businesses towards an autonomous economy”, the report points out that the autonomy of the economy remains low when the indicators to ensure sustainable growth and competitiveness all decline due to unfavorable international economic factors plus several domestic economic issues which haven’t been thoroughly resolved.

Dr. Nguyen Quoc Viet, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Institute for Economic and Policy Research of the Hanoi National University said that support policies to stabilize the macro economy are still one of good foundations to restore the confidence of the market, investors, and domestic consumption.

“The stability of the macro-economy is the foundation for the recovery of the market's confidence. It's important to engage ministries and agencies from the central to local levels in addressing businesses' difficulties. The State needs to provide prompt support to resolve difficulties, for example, in searching new markets, orders, and the recovery of domestic consumption,” said Viet.

The report offers three scenarios for GDP growth this year under which the country’s GDP growth rates will be 5.5%, 6%, or 6.5% respectively.
