The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism says Vietnam is nominated in such categories as Asia's leading beach tourism destination, Asia's leading cultural destination, Asia's leading destination, Asia's leading heritage destination, Asia's leading natural destination, and Asia's leading destination for young people. The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism is nominated for the category of Asia's Leading Tourism Management Agency.

Many Vietnamese tourist destinations are also nominated in different categories.

Ho Chi Minh City is nominated for the category of Asia's Leading Business-Tourism Destination. Hanoi is nominated in two categories: Asia's Leading City Short Break Destination and Asia's Leading City Destination.

Hoi An and Hue are both nominated in the category of Asia's Leading Cultural City Destination.

Ha Giang province and Ha Nam province are nominated in the category of Asia's Leading Emerging Tourist Destinations. Ha Nam is also named in the category of Asia's Leading Local Cultural Destination.

Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City are both nominated in the category of Asia's Leading Festival and Event Destinations.
