World Food Program to strengthen strategic cooperation with Vietnam

(VNA/VOVworld) – The World Food Program (WFP) hopes to strengthen strategic cooperation with Vietnam, said WFP Executive Director Ertharin Cousin yesterday while receiving the credentials of Vietnamese Ambassador to the WFP Nguyen Hoang Long.

Cousin said the WFP and Vietnam have a high potential to enhance their cooperation. She spoke highly of Vietnam’s recent achievements and expressed her hope for long-term collaboration, and for Vietnam’s greater future involvement in the South-South cooperation project and other projects to improve food quality in food deficit countries and provide goods and personnel to WFP charity activities. The Vietnamese ambassador praised Cousin’s role in WFP operations. He reiterated Vietnam’s readiness to participate in the UN and other international activities and do its best to boost relations with WFP.
