(VOVWORLD) - 120 young ASEAN leaders gathered at a 5-day workshop in Can Tho city on Tuesday to contribute initiatives to protect Mekong Delta environment.

The event was organized by the US Mission to Vietnam and the Resource Centre for Community Development of An Giang University. Participants will study recent Mekong Delta’s climate change’s effects on people’s income and local economic development, and work out remedy measures.
Participants will make field trips to An Giang, Can Tho, and Bac Lieu provinces which were severely affected by climate change, and propose action plans with consultations from ASEAN top environmental experts.
