Art programme on seas and islands held in Ly Son Island

(VOVWORLD) -An art programme themed “Seas, Islands – Heart of Fatherland” was held in Ly Son district on Wednesday.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Nhat Linh, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Students Association, said the programme was very meaningful contributing to connecting the mainland with the seas and islands as well as soldiers who are on duty in these areas with their families and relatives.

Linh said: “Returning to Ly Son island, Quang Ngai province, the Vietnam Students’ Association wants to spread national pride and love for the sea, islands, mainland, and border areas to 2.3 million students across the country. The young people will be aware of their responsibilities and role in the ongoing integration process and what they need to do to deserve the sacrifice of the ancestors.”

On this occasion, Vietnam Students Association handed over presents to 100 families in difficult circumstances and scholarships to students in Ly Son island district. The Association on the same day inaugurated a reading space for youth and children, community sports area and a solar powered lighting system.
