“ASEAN cultural space” exhibition opens
(VOVworld) – An exhibition entitled “Towards an ASEAN community of solidarity, cooperation, and development” opened in Hanoi on Thursday to mark the 69th anniversary of Vietnam National Day, the 47th anniversary of the founding of ASEAN, and 19 years of Vietnam’s ASEAN membership. On display are 1000 documents including photos, paintings, newspapers, and books in different languages, focusing on 4 topics: Vietnam’s August Revolution and National Day, Vietnam’s achievements since the beginning of its renewal process, the Southeast Asian region’s economics, culture, seas, and islands, and ASEAN and Vietnam’s activities in the bloc. Vuong Duy Bien, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, said: “The exhibition aims to promote exchanges among the ASEAN community, connecting ASEAN members with top priority being given to connecting the bloc members’ culture. To deal with the challenges posed by current world developments, Vietnam, as an ASEAN member, calls on the whole community to join hands to preserve our own unique culture during the international integration process.”
The exhibition will last until September 15th.
