(VOVworld)- Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc met his Thai counterpart Prayuth Chan-ocha on Saturday on the occasion of the 30^th ASEAN Summit in the Philippines. The two leaders agreed to balance trade, promote investment cooperation, and strengthen communications and early warning to prevent their ships from violating each other’s territorial waters. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc urged the two sides to strengthen the Action Program on Implementing Strategic Partnership in the 2014-2018 period, increase cooperation in security, national defense, discuss the agreements on expedition, judicial support, and establish a hotline to settle issues arising at sea. The two Prime Ministers urged to build a strong ASEAN Community, and increase ASEAN’s role in addressing regional security and strategic issues.
