Located roughly 70km southwest of the former imperial capital of Hue, A Luoi is a mountainous district close to the border with Laos.
The district still preserves the unique cultural identity of ethnic minorities, including the Ta Oi, Co Tu, and Van Kieu.
The immense primeval forests of the majestic Truong Sơn Mountain Range have become an outstanding draw for tourists from near and far.
The creation of tourism villages and co-operatives across the district, with a specific focus on presenting the traditional and cultural identities of local ethnic people through high-quality tourism services, has lured increasing numbers of visitors to the area.

Most notably, Doac liquor is a traditional drink of the Ta Oi ethnic people who reside on the Truong Son Mountain Range. The drink is taken directly from trees, then soaked in bark to ferment it into alcohol.
A Luoi also boasts rich folk singings and traditional dances.
