The Ministry of Information and Communications held an award ceremony in Hanoi on Tuesday for the “Happy Vietnam” photo and video contest.
This marks the first time a photo and video contest about human rights in Vietnam has been held online.
During the award ceremony, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung remarked that the greatest strength, creativity, and vitality always stem from the people. The collection of 7,000 photos and videos from Vietnamese individuals across the nation serves as compelling evidence of their strength, creativity, and vitality.
The vietnam.vn platform has recorded over 90 million individuals viewing these 7,000 works, with over 40% of them from abroad. Some individual works have been viewed by over half a million people, remarkable figures that have surprised even the organizers themselves.

Catalin Chitu, the only foreign recipient of the Second Prize for his work “Skyscraper Shrouded in Clouds” said: "I took this photo in 2021, during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown. After the rain, I looked outside and saw the entire skyscraper floating in the clouds, which left a great impression on me. Upon learning about the contest through the press and its extension to foreigners, I felt that the content had a positive message, portraying a joyful Vietnam. This motivated me to participate."
The authors took photos next to their works.
The “Happy Vietnam” contest exemplifies the Vietnamese Party and State's deep concern and unwavering policy on prioritizing the material and spiritual well-being of the people, placing them at the center, leaving no one behind.
