(VOVworld) - The Lao Ministry of National Defense announced on Thursday that its search team has found the wreckage of the Mi-17 military plane that crashed in Longcheng district in the northern province of Saysomboun on July 27.

The bodies of 22 victims have been found. The search for one other is underway. Lao agencies are investigating the case. Bad weather is thought to have caused the accident.
The Mi-17 helicopter, with four crewmembers and 19 passengers on board, was en route to the provinces of Xiengkhouang and Houaphan when it lost contact with the Aviation Control Centre shortly after departing the capital city of Vientiane.
