(VOVworld) - The 18^th International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties (IMCWP) opens in Hanoi on Friday.

This is the first time the Communist Party of Vietnam has hosted the event this year themed “Capitalist crisis and imperialist offensive - Strategy and tactics of the Communist and Workers’ Parties in the struggle for peace, workers’ and peoples’ rights, and socialism.”
The 2-day meeting is an opportunity for the Communist Party of Vietnam to strengthen its relations with other Communists and Workers’ Parties, contribute to the cause of international communism, and gain support for Vietnam’s reform and national development. General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong meets with leaders of delegations to the meeting.
