Feminist Foreign Policy – a tool to advance gender equality globally

(VOVWORLD) - Sweden was the first government in the world to promulgate a feminist foreign policy to promote the rights, representation, and resources of all women and girls. It has proven that gender equality benefits all – men and women - and that sustainable peace, security, and development can never be achieved if half the world’s population is excluded. Gender-equal societies enjoy better health, stronger economic growth, and greater security. After Sweden, the feminist foreign policy was adopted by Canada in 2017, France and Luxembourg in 2019, Mexico in 2020,  and Spain in 2021.
