6th GMS Summit to be held in Hanoi

(VOVWORLD) - Hanoi will host the 6th Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) Summit and the 10th Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam (CLV) Summit on the Development Triangle Area from Thursday to Saturday.

The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry will coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the GMS Business Council to hold the GMS Business Summit on Friday in the framework of the GMS Summit.

This is the first time the GMS Summit has been held in Vietnam. It will draw more than 1,000 domestic and foreign delegates, to boost exchanges and economic cooperation between businesses and build a prosperous and integrated sub-region.

Tran Bao Ngoc, Deputy Director of the Economic Integration Department and GMS’s Head of Content Sub-committee said: “The summit aims to create favorable conditions for businesses to meet and connect with each other. In the framework of the summit, we will set an area for businesses and hold discussions on infrastructure, agriculture, and trade.”

The summit will be attended by the Prime Ministers of Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia, and high ranking leaders of China, Myanmar, international organizations, hundreds of businesses from GMS countries, and foreign enterprises .
