Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Lien Huong told the launch ceremony, “To further ensure effective disease control and safe, flexible adaptation, the National Steering Committee for pandemic prevention and control has issued a new COVID-19 message about Masks + Disinfection + Vaccine + Medicine + Treatment + Technology + Public Awareness. We need to be vigilant and not allow the pandemic to re-emerge.”

Vietnam is still recording more than 2,000 new cases every day, but the fatality rate is low: one death per day for the past 10 days. With 260 million shots of COVID-19 vaccine administered, Vietnam has one of the highest totals of vaccine doses and broadest vaccine coverage in the world.

According to the World Health Organization, the COVID-19 pandemic will not be completely controlled before 2023, and possible dangerous new strains of the virus, make the pandemic unpredictable.
