Witnesses said the runway was hit by two missiles on Saturday, a day after the civil aviation authority in Sanaa announced it would repair the airport, which has been targeted frequently by air strikes. The coalition has imposed an air blockade and control sea travel to prevent supply for the rebels.

Iran President Hassan Rouhani said the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia has committed a strategic mistake when conducting air strikes on Yemen. He warned of humanitarian deterioration in Yemen and said Iran will continue to send relief to Yemen.
