Art exchange raises money for poor fishermen, soldiers

(VOVworld) – The Vietnam Journalists Association hosted an art exchange on Monday to raise donations for fishermen who lost fishing equipment and poor families of soldiers on remote islands. The event in Hanoi welcomed Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh, representatives of ministries and sectors, and kind-hearted organizations and individuals.

Minh highlighted the humanitarian importance of the event, which conforms to Vietnam’s sea and islands policy, inspires love of fellow-countrymen, honors those serve on the sea, and affirms the determination to defend Vietnam’s territorial waters.

This was an occasion to acknowledge those who contribute to ensuring social security, defending Vietnam’s sea and islands, and developing the marine economy.
