(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has met with a delegation of fishermen and soldiers who are in Hanoi to attend the program “Sea and Island Hearts”.

The program was organized by the Vietnam Journalists Association to appeal on people to share the burden of the fishermen, especially those on Truong Sa and Hoang Sa archipelagos. Mr. Dam said that besides ensuring economic growth and social security, the Vietnamese government has always paid attention to strengthening the people’s national defense. The Party, State, and government have reserved resources and created incentives to improve the lives of people in remote areas. He expressed his hope that the fishermen and soldiers would promote the tradition of unity and mutual support to obtain socio-economic development targets.
