(VOVOworld) - An Austrian-Vietnamese forum on tertiary education, and scientific research took place in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday. Addressing the event, Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan said the forum underlined the country’s determination to prioritize education and technology as it is essential for rapid and sustainable development in Vietnam until 2020. Austrian President Fischer said he was delighted at the diversity of the projects Austria and Vietnam are working on in science and research, based on the agreements.

The Minister of  Science and Technology Nguyen Quan said that Vietnam’s science and technology development strategy till 2020 aims to ensure international integration. It’s also important that the country’s science and technology sector comes up to international standards.

The two state leaders also witnessed the signing of 6 cooperative agreements between universities from both countries.
