Brazil to hold second round of presidential election on October 26th

(VOVworld) – Dilma Rousseff won in the first round of the Brazilian presidential election on Sunday, but she did not obtain 50 percent of the votes.

This forces Brazil to hold a second round of the election to choose a leader for the next 4 years.

According to the preliminary results announced by Brazil’s superior Electoral Court on Monday, with 93.54 percent of ballots counted, 41.08 percent of valid votes went to Rousseff, and 34.20 percent to her opponent Aecio Neves. Rousseff and Neves will face each other in a run-off.
