They were tasked with fixing roads damaged by the American war planes and transporting goods to the southern battlefields.

The event was part of activities to mark the 30th anniversary of the All-People Defence Festival and Vietnam's 75th National Defense Day on December 22.

Nguyen Thi Mai, Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, said: “The program shows gratitude to the young volunteer martyrs and calls for better understanding of the tradition and contributions of Vietnam’s Youth Volunteer Force to the Resistance War against America.”

The program delivered the Vietnamese philosophy - “When drinking water, remember the source” – and deep gratitude to heroic mothers, heroes, martyrs and those who contributed to the national revolutionary cause.
