China’s Sichuan earthquake injures over 11,000 people

(VOVworld) – The 7 magnitude earthquake that shocked China's Sichuan province on Saturday left at least 180 people dead and injured more than 11,200 others. 24 people are sill missing. 10,000 houses were destroyed. Chinese Premier Li Keqiang visited the epicenter, Lushan County of Ya'an City, to direct rescue activities and resolve the aftermath of the earthquake. Li asked the local authorities to check every household and accelerate rescue activities.

Knowing the information of the serious earthquake in Sichuan province, Vietnamese Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong, President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung sent their regards to Chinese General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang, and Chairman of the National People's Congress Zhang Dejiang. Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh also sent his message of regards to his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.
