(VOVWORLD) - A concert marking the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Partnership was held in Hanoi, featuring American cellist Bryan Charles Wilson and Vietnamese artists Ngo Tra My, an esteemed Dan Bau (monochord) teacher and soloist, Pham Tra My, a lecturer of zither performance at Vietnam National Academy of Music, and Tri Minh, a contemporary sound artist.

Cameron Thomas Shah, spokesperson of the US Mission in Vietnam, insisted that the culture show is another example of the deep bilateral ties shared between the two countries.
“It demonstrates how close our two countries are in terms of music. I’m so excited to participate and enjoy it with our friends, partners, and the local community here in Hanoi tonight,” said Cameron.
The concert, entitled "10th Anniversary Culture Show'', featured Wilson’s new album, Tri Am, in which he reinterprets Vietnamese music on his cello.
In a mesmerizing performance. the talented Vietnamese artists accompanied Wilson’s new cello compositions on traditional Vietnamese instruments, the Dan Tranh (zither string) and the Dan Bau (monochord).
The unique collaboration went beyond old boundaries to engage in a musical conversation that captivatingly blended the enchanting sounds of these traditional instruments with modern electronic elements.
“I love Vietnamese traditional music. What I’m really trying to do is merge my own vison and artistic flow with the ancient tradition. I don’t want to limit it by just playing something purely traditional, but to expand upon it, create something new, and foster a collaboration that brings people together,” said Wilson.
