(VOVworld) - State President Truong Tan Sang has applauded the diplomatic sector’s worthy contributions to ensuring political stability and peaceful environment thus raising Vietnam’s international status.
Speaking at the 28th Diplomatic Conference on Thursday, President Sang said the contributions have helped consolidate a peace environment toward building the nation, making full use of the international community’s support, and increasing Vietnam’s position in the international arena.
He analyzed the complicated developments of the regional and world situation, advantages, challenges as well as new tasks for the diplomatic sector in the time ahead.
He asked the Foreign Ministry, ambassadors, and heads of Vietnam’s representative agencies abroad to properly implement Party policies and resolutions on external relations, while making greater contributions to regional and international forums and national construction and defence.
Mr. Sang called on the Foreign Ministry to boost studies and make more contributions in regional and international forums as an effective way to protect the nation.
