EEU promotes intra-regional cooperation

(VOVWORLD) - The leaders of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan have met Friday on the margins of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) summit in Kyrgyzstan's capital Bishkek.

The leaders approved 15 documents, including the decision to start negotiations with the United Arab Emirates on a free trade agreement and agreed on directions and budgets for the international activities of the EAEU next year.

Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the establishment of a new specialised industry financing mechanism in the EAEU.

This mechanism will make it possible to grant loans and subsidies to promising joint projects, including those related to setting up import substation-oriented production facilities.
