(VOVworld) – EU finance ministers reached no consensus on tax evasion, one of the priority issues on the agenda at a conference in Brussels yesterday. Algirdas Semeta, European Commissioner for Taxation and Customs Union, expressed his disappointment about the result of the meeting. He said that a tax evasion agreement with strict regulation was very important for all EU member states, in order to make it easier to track down tax dodgers. Semeta added that it was regrettable that agreement was not reached. Luxembourg, one of the EU’s smallest nations but also one of its richest, said “no” to the idea.
