(VOVworld) – EU Interior Ministers approved Tuesday a plan to relocate 120,000 immigrants sheltering in Greece, Italy, and Hungary between member countries. Some 66,000 immigrants granted asylum will be relocated in Greece and Italy.

Thousands of refugees continue to land in Greece

The EU Interior Ministers held another meeting the same day to discuss the quota of immigrants. A EU Summit on the issue will be held on Wednesday.  UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHRC) Antonio Guterres called for European solidarity to resolve its worst immigrant crisis since WWII. Spokeswoman for the UNHRC Melissa Fleming said the EU’s urgent need now is consensus on solutions to the crisis.
