EU-Turkey migrant deal in “dangerous moment”

(VOVworld) - A deal between the EU and Turkey to end the migrant crisis is facing "a very dangerous moment" as they wrangle over whether Ankara has fulfilled the terms. The announcement on Wednesday by Turkey's EU Affairs Minister Volkan Bozkir has heightened tensions between the two sides in honoring the deal, which has had encouraging results for the migrant crisis.

Turkey said it had basically fulfilled the terms of the deal while Brussels said Turkey must still meet five more benchmarks to allow Turkish people to enjoy visa-free travel to Europe. Bozkir also underlined President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's opposition to changing Turkey’s anti-terror legislation, which the EU said is one of the 5 outstanding benchmarks left from a list of 72.
