Festivals promote culture, tourism, traditional crafts across Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) - A festival opened in downtown Hanoi on Friday night to promote the typical culture, tourism products, and farm produce of 19 ethnic minority groups living in the mountain province of Ha Giang. Festival goers to the opening ceremony were treated to art performances by the Nung ethnic people and a traditional ritual to worship the Forest God.

Nguyen Hong Hai, Director of the Ha Giang provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, said: “We want to introduce the unique culture of 19 ethnic groups, beautiful scenery, and cuisine of Ha Giang province. The festival is expected to promote our province to a wider audience inside and outside Vietnam.”

On Friday, Ha Nam province hosted a festival to promote local tourism, craft villages, and cuisine. It attracted 70 exhibitors in the Red River delta. Participants took part in exploration of the Tam Chuc tourism site, demonstration and hands-on experience of making crafts, tourism promotion activities, art performances, and folk games.

Both festivals in Hanoi and Ha Nam will close on Sunday.
