(VOVworld) – Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh is now on an official visit to Luxembourg. He held talks on Tuesday with Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn. The two ministers agreed on the need to create opportunities for their business community to boost cooperation in science and technology, environment and sustainable development, health, information and communication, as well as to strengthen cultural exchanges. Both sides appreciated the outcomes of recent development projects and pledged to accelerate projects, under the Vietnam-Luxembourg Orientation Cooperation Program during 2011-2015, which focus on health, vocational training, and rural development into areas experiencing socio-economic difficulties.

Both ministers agreed that Vietnam and Luxembourg will continue close cooperation and coordination via international forums and organizations. Minh stressed that Vietnam will support Luxembourg to broaden its ties with ASEAN while Asselborn said Luxembourg will assist Vietnam to develop its relationship with the EU and back the country’s bid to secure EU recognition as a market economy. Asselborn praised Vietnam’s developing role in the region and its position as coordinator of ASEAN-EU relations from next month.
