(VOVworld) – A Mexican garment cooperation with Vietnam last month created a foundation for bilateral garment cooperation. Truong Van Cam, Vice President of Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS), said that garments was of Vietnam’s main exports. He said that the industry’s export turn-over was expected to reach 45-50 billion USD by 2020. He said Vietnam and Mexico would have more cooperation opportunities when the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) takes effect.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade the export tariff to Mexico was at 30% but it would fall to 0% when the TPP is implemented. After 3-4 years, Vietnam’s export value in Mexico is expected to double.
