French government survives no-confidence vote

(VOVworld) – The French government survived the Thursday no-confidence vote demanded by the opposition following a controversial decree that allows it to modify labor law without Parliament’s approval. The opposition got 246 of the 288 votes needed to bring down the government.

Demonstrations broke out on Thursday across France to protest the government’s decree to promulgate the labor law reform. Clashes have been reported in Paris and Nantes.
