German Leopard tanks delivered to Ukraine

(VOVWORLD) - Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Monday confirmed that Germany has delivered the Leopard 2 battle tanks promised by the government in Berlin to Ukraine.

Scholz told a press conference with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in Rotterdam that Germany and the Netherlands have delivered battle tanks and artillery shells to Ukraine and together with Denmark, they plan to deliver Leopard 1 tanks and more modern tanks to Ukraine.
Germany confirmed earlier this year that it would give 18 Leopard 2A6 tanks to Ukraine. Poland, Spain, and Norway are likely to also send Leopards to Ukraine.
The first British Challenger 2 battle tanks have arrived in Ukraine, and the US intends to send Abrams tanks to Ukraine this autumn. Western countries will provide between 200 to 400 tanks to Ukraine.
