(VOVworld) – An exhibition displaying documentary materials and a map collection about the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa Archipelagos opened in Quang Ninh province on Tuesday.

Entitled “Hoang Sa-Truong Sa: the Historical Evidence”, the exhibition displays Royal documents from the Nguyen Dynasty, a collection of 200 maps, and 200 documents and photos asserting Vietnam’s territorial sovereignty over the two archipelagoes. The materials were published in China as well as Western countries. Some of Vietnam’s oldest maps, published in the 15th century, show evidence confirming the nation’s sovereignty over the two archipelagoes. The event also includes a number of books, performances, literary artworks about the sea and islands and includes film screenings about the Paracel and Spratly archipelagoes.
